How was it so gloriously sunny last week, and so very wet, windy and miserable outside now? It feels like a different world and very much like the end of sitting out in the sunshine in t-shirts for the year! Luckily the grotty weather coincided with an influx of work for team Sprechen, and makes being in front of our computer screens that little more bearable. We are extremely busy this week with a few big website rebuilds, social media scheduling, content writing, preparing for a big client trade show, planning lectures and lecturing. And to top it all Vicky is jetting off and leaving us to get everything done – plus some of her work! She’s taking a few days out to sit in the sunshine in Palma’s old town before hibernation begins for the winter.
The weekend was a blur of rugby losses (sob!) charity events, painting the Santa Sleigh and planning promotion for the Winchester Bonfire and Fireworks – the date for this year is Saturday 7th November, so make sure you get your tickets soon! We can’t help but wonder about the fallout for the marketing departments of big brands who have hung their entire campaigns on England and the team as hosts of the Rugby World Cup, only for them to crash out in the first round…
Steve heads off to Paris on Sunday to help a client set up ready for a trade show and unveil their new app which he’s been working hard on over the past few months. Our sister company Sprechen Wi-Fi is also demanding some time each week as Hampshire (and beyond) need our help to get online.
In general marketing news, Instagram turns 5 this week – we cannot believe it’s already been around for so long! The inevitable adverts (sorry, promoted posts!) and brands have crept into our photo stream which as markerters makes it a useful tool, but as consumers? We are a little bit sad!
